And yet.....

Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes

Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter

And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her "house," even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!

Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.

Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we "gave" one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey)

Don't Dare Ask a Democrat a Hard Question in Ohio

The Department of Job and Family Services, the Ohio Department of Taxation, the Ohio Attorney General Nancy Rogers, and three other unnamed state agencies conducted database searches of Joe the Plumber only after he embarrassed Obama with a difficult question. Big brother is watching you, especially if you don't conform to Democrat philosophy.

Highest Marginal Income Tax Rate

From the TaxProf.
The length of the depression has been theorized by many to have lasted much longer than necessary due higher income taxes. Without the higher taxes, the capital could have been reinvested into industry to create jobs.

Dear Ruler

The co-chair of Barack Obama's Transition Team, Valerie Jarrett, told NBC news that Obama is ready to "rule" on day 1. This word choice is not an easy mistake to make. One has to have a certain mindset to use it. I hope that Obama and the rest of his team will not treat the Presidency as if Obama were a king. Consciously, I think they know this, but subconsciously I think Obama and his team have an attitude of King and King's advisors. If the left thought that Bush acted unilaterally (another false liberal talking point), just watch what Obama will do.

I think one of his first "edicts" will be to ban offshore drilling again, demonstrating once and for all the disingenuous of the Dems on this issue.

Small Government?

It appears the government spending increases no matter who is in control of Congress.
Republicans claim to be the party of small government, but little changes under their control. I think the problem is non-discretionary (i.e., Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, etc.) Something reasonable must be done about this. We are currently borrowing from our children to pay current benefits.

Vacation from Political Reading

I have read many election- and politics-related articles in the past several months. I have learned much, but I have had enough for now. I will return at a later date with suggestions on how the conservative movement can once again exert itself on the national scene.

Obama's Wandering Finger

This post may be a bit of a tinfoil hat post.
A lot of people have watched Obama very carefully, and he has a tendency to compliment his competitors while scratching his face with his fingers. It has been observed that he only scratches his face with his middle finger when he is complimenting his opponent.
The first photo was taken while complimenting Hilliary Clinton.

The second photo was taken while complimenting McCain (with his supporters roundly booing).

Sure. Two photos don't make a trend, but I found it to be an odd habit.
